What is your Twitter handle?

@fplkernow

Who do you support?

Sheffield Wednesday

Why do you support them?

My dad took me to see them in a friendly against local club Bodmin Town when I was a kid. Met some of the players afterwards and have supported them ever since.

How often do you get to attend matches?

It’s a 700 mile round-trip from Cornwall to Hillsborough so I don’t go to as many matches as I’d like. Try to get to a couple of games a season. Bristol City away is the first fixture I look for.

Who is your favourite ever player?

David Hirst. Brilliant goalscorer who deserved more of a chance with England. My mates got a box at Hillsborough for my stag do and I had the privilege to meet the legend himself.

What win in your lifetime means the most to you?

League one play off final win. Forty thousand plus Wednesday fans in the Millennium Stadium. Best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at a game of football.

Which goal meant the most?

Steven MacLean’s play off equaliser. A surprise inclusion in the squad after a fractured foot seemed set to rule him out. Came on with about 10 minutes to go and rescued our promotion hopes from the penalty spot.

Which team would you most like to beat this season?

Sheffield United.

Are you happy with your manager?

Yes. Some decent performances and results towards the end of a disappointing season. Interested to see who comes and goes over the summer but optimistic for next year.

Are you happy with your Board/Chairman?

Yes. As with most foreign owners that have big dreams it could easily go horribly wrong very quickly but at this current time we have a better squad and higher expectations than when he took over.

Where do you realistically think your club will finish this season?

I’d like to think we can challenge for top 6 again but will all depend on what kind of a summer we have.

What opposition player do you secretly admire?

Not much of an asset FPL wise but I love the versatility and hard working attitude of James Milner. Despite his Leeds roots would like him at Wednesday when he no longer has the legs for Klopp’s hard press.

Is there a youngster at the club who could become a regular in the side this season?

George Hirst, 19 year old son of aforementioned David, is out of contract so looks set to leave for a compensation fee with Man Utd, Everton and Leicester all reportedly interested.

Connor Kirby made his first team debut towards the end of last season and hopefully will push for more minutes next season.

Who do you think will be your club’s top FPL points scorer this season?

No FPL points for us this season unfortunately. Maybe next year. Will be relying on Michail Antonio for FPL points with a Sheffield Wednesday connection this year after Chris Brunt’s relegation.

Can you tell us about your FPL history?

This will be my 13th season. Highest finish 41k, lowest 423k, last season 80k.

What would be a successful FPL finish for you this season?

Having joined the FPL community mid-way through last season I’d like to think that next season I can use the resources on offer to record my highest ever finish.

What formation do you generally favour for FPL?

I’ve always played 3-4-3 with a very cheap defence.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned playing FPL?

Don’t play 3-4-3 with a very cheap defence.

When did you use your chips last season and was it successful?

WC1 – gameweek 4

WC2 – gameweek 32

BB – gameweek 34

FH – gameweek 35

TC – gameweek 37

Needed an early WC after some terrible early season picks (triple Southampton and triple WBA). Planned for BGW31 so second WC in GW32 was always on the cards. Bench boost in DGW34 only got me 15 which was a bit disappointing. Free hit in GW35 was my highest GW rank of the season and I played triple captain on Kane in DGW37 mainly because I was chasing a sizeable deficit in a mini league and he had the greatest potential to score huge.

Anything else we should know about you?

I love a stat. Over the second half of last season started to tweet weekly tables of FPL points for and against over the last 4 games for each club. Hoping to produce some interesting/useful content next season.
